Vulfpeck is a funk band founded in 2011 and based in Los Angeles. The members met while studying musicology and released four EPs: Mit Peck in 2011, Vollmilch in 2012, My First Car in 2013, and Fugue State in 2014. They then released Sleepify, a silent ten-track album on a streaming platform designed to raise funds from fans, which allowed them to finance their tour. This was followed by their first full-length album in 2015, Thrill of the Arts, The Beautiful Game (2016), Mr Finish Line (2017), Hill Climber (2018), The Joy of Music, the Job of Real Estate (2020), Schvitz (2022), and most recently Clarity of Cal (2025).

The founding members of the band are Jack Stratton on keyboards, drums, and guitar; Theo Katzman on guitar, drums, and vocals; Woody Goss on keyboards; and Joe Dart on bass. Touring partners and frequent collaborators include Antwaun Stanley, Joey Dosik, and Cory Wong. Other contributing musicians include Charles Jones, Christine Hucal, David T. Walker, Bernard Purdie, James Gadson, and Blake Mills.
