Sophye Soliveau
Sophye Soliveau is a singer, harpist, and choir director. Her love for Afro-American music, ranging from R&B to soul and gospel, took root in her childhood, and she honed her skills through classical training. From the reinterpretation that fuels her improvisations, the quest for healing, and the learning of freedom, arises INITIATION, her debut album. It is a fervent celebration of voluptuous R&B. INITIATION is characterized by its stripped-down orchestration. Sophye’s vocal cords and her harp come together, rising against a backdrop of airy choirs and a bass-drum rhythm with a precious and subtle groove, enhancing an original repertoire with deeply soulful inspirations.
